A Chorus America National Study finds
that choral singing is the top choice for participation in
the performing arts by adults and children. Read a summary
of this report in Word

Adult
- Chancel
Choir
The
Chancel Choir is for singers college age and above. This choir
is the regular choir for Sunday worship. The importance of meaningful
and well-prepared worship music at River Road Church is most
keenly reflected in the commitment of this vital choir. While
extensive musical training is not a prerequisite, those of our
congregation who have musical backgrounds are urged to share
their talents in the Chancel Choir.
- Chancel Bell Choir
This group of ringers, college age and above, plays at regular
and special services throughout the season.
Youth
Youth
Choir is open to all students in the sixth through twelfth grades.
This group participates in many services of worship, including
special music at Christmas and special Baptismal services. This
choir is a combination of work, learning and fellowship.
- River Road Ringers
This group of ringers, grades 6-12, rings periodically throughout
the season.
Elementary
- Carol Choir (Grades 1-2)
- Crusader Choir (Grades 3-5)
Children participate in music activities with
an emphasis on preparation of music for worship. Members of
these choirs learn about hymns we sing and prepare anthems
to sing monthly in the worship service. They also receive
instruction in music theory and ensemble voice production.
In addition to Sunday morning appearances, these choirs present
one staged music/drama during the choir year.
Preschool
- Cherub Choir (ages 3,
4, and 5)
Preschoolers participate in activities, providing a musical
foundation built on positive attitudes
