11:00 a.m. Worship (grades 1-5)
During hymn of Devotion – Children’s Church (grades 1-2 in chapel)
Children in elementary grades meet for Sunday School by grade levels. The curriculum places the child in the center of the learning experience and provides Bible-based studies and uses educationally sound teaching methods. Our challenge in teaching children is to teach the truth of the gospel with methods that meet the developmental and spiritual needs of today’s children.
Worship bags – The worship bags enrich the worship of God, show that we care for and prepare for children, and that their presence in worship matters. Our worship bags, located in the narthex, help to enhance the experience of worship for our children in their ability to understand worship (what it is, different parts of worship, what they should do [sit, stand]) and to help educate them about it. Our hope also is that the bags will provide some help for parents in helping educate their children about worship. Our intent is NOT just to give them something to keep them quiet and occupied. We include items such as a children’s bulletin, paper, crayons, a prayer book, and some information to help guide parents to guide their children.
Children’s Church – For the first part of the service, all children remain in the Sanctuary to worship with their families. Children in grades 1 and 2 may leave the Sanctuary during the Hymn of Devotion. They will be met in the Narthex and taken to the Chapel to continue their worship with our Minister with Children and Youth. Third through fifth graders remain in the Sanctuary to worship with their families.
