Karen Brown is a 2017 graduate of BTSR. She was was the Martha Stearns Marshall preacher at Richmond’s First Baptist Church in February. She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2007 and earned her Master of Social Work degree from VCU in 2009. She worked as a Hospice Social Worker for four years before pursuing her call to seminary. Now that she has graduated from BTSR, she is enjoying preaching opportunities and mostly staying at home with her 2.5 year old daughter and 2.5 month old son. Her husband is a hospice chaplain for Capital Caring. They are members at Richmond’s First Baptist Church and like outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and running.
